Our Story
Well, you have to go back a few decades to get an idea of how deep this passion for food runs. My mom's been selling baked goods and wowing our friends and family with her food since before I was even born. Over the years, she has honed her craft, perfected her techniques, educated herself and constantly added to her repertoire.
It wouldn't be till years later that Richard and I would meet at college. Had he gone to culinary arts school as he intended, we never would have met, but though he took the more traditional college route his cooking hobby never died. He introduced me to various different types of cuisine that he brought back to the states with him from his years of living overseas, and it was love at first bite.....
Ok, so maybe not 1st bite, but he definitely won cool points the first time he made me 3 cheese stuffed lemon pepper chicken! I was quite impressed with the not even 20 year old skinny guy from the Motor City.
When we married a few years later, it definitely became a family food affair. After years of dancing around the idea and working at jobs that never quite met the expectations to pursue our passions, we have finally heeded the call of family, friends, and even strangers to answer the now infamous question—"when are y'all gonna open a restaurant?" We along with my mom and little brother (who has a few years of restaurant experience under his belt himself) will open Crave Restaurant and Bakery in March of 2011, serving breakfast and desserts to the people and tourists of Atlanta, Ga!
